January 9, 2017 - The Rockland County Clerk's Office announced today that the Marisa Fund has been chosen from a list of eight local charities to receive voluntary donations from all visitors requesting Notary of Public services. The Office consists of over 30 Notaries providing services to hundreds of people each month.
Ms. Filor (of the Clerk's Office) stated: "we are excited that we can help make an impact on furthering pediatric cancer research and help patients and their families. September 10, 2014 - Announcing the republishing and reediting of the Portals Series books by the founder of the Marisa Fund (David Goldwasser)!! Child of the Scroll / Darker Days / Light's Keep are fantasy books about a young girl named "Lissa" involving wizards and are dedicated to Marisa. The books are readable for young adults through adults. They are discounted and available Online (at Amazon and Barnes & Noble) in hardcover, paperback and e-reader editions (including all Kindles). April 23, 2015 - Dr. Mitchell Cairo and the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation announces that David Goldwasser (Executive Director of the Marisa Fund) has been named the 2015 Dream Big Award Recipient for his dedication and support for PCRF in the fight for pediatric cancer research.
Dave will be honored at the 8th Annual PCRF Dream. Discover. Cure. Golf Tournament to be held on July 13, 2015 at the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, NY.
January 11, 2017 - David Goldwasser (the Fund's Director), today announced the results of the 2016 - 5 Mile Turkey Trot for The MARISA Fund. An impressive dollar amount of $84,000 for charity was raised by the event! The Marisa Fund received $64,000; $7,500 was contributed to two separate local non-profit scholarship funds; People to People received $7,000. The Salvation Army and Local Ambulance Corps were also benefactors.
Note that the $7,000 donation to the People to People Food Pantry converts into $40,000+ at the regional food bank. We also collected over 800 lbs of non-perishable food. There were 3,600 registered runners for the Event (a new record for the second consecutive year)!
